Drinking and Pairing Savennières with Food

Savennières is a wine-growing region located on the bank of the Loire River in the Anjou-Saumur area of France. The wines are produced exclusively from the golden-hued, honey- and apple-scented Chenin Blanc grape. Savennières is a dry wine and some consider its two Crus of La Roche-aux-Moines and Coulée de Serant to be some of the very finest dry white wines produced on earth.

The wines make excellent partners with white meat and lighter fish. The high acidity of Savennières makes it an excellent wine to cut through rich, cream-based sauces, and it can pair remarkably well with boudin blanc or pâté.
