Navarra is a winegrowing region sitting opposite Rioja on the Ebro River in north-central Spain. It produces mostly red and rosé wines with a small amount of white wine. The main grape variety planted in Navarra is the Garnacha which is usually blended with Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon. The red wines are medium-dark in color with higher alcohol. Like red Rioja, most red Navarra is aged in small oak barrels giving the wines notes of cedar and vanilla.

Pair Navarra with roasted or stewed meats, stuffed red peppers, and paellas containing chicken or chorizo.
